NHL re-alignment halted by NHLPA: "It is unfortunate that the NHLPA has unreasonably refused to approve a plan that an overwhelming majority of our clubs voted to support, and that has received such widespread support from our fans and other members of the hockey community, including players," Deputy commissioner Bill Daly said in a statement.

It's apparent that I can't know about a Tigers no-hitter until after the fact, seeing as I've never seen one actually happen, but I've been dozens of spoiled no-nos...

Number of grand slam home runs hit by Detroit Tigers batters in 2012 >= the number of fucks MeatSaber gives about Inge's stats post-Tigers. No offense to you, though, grum. I'm happy for him, and hope he succeeds in Oakland...but his stats since the 2009 all-star break are horrendous. I won't look back at his release as a mistake...

I want the end of his career to be 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth of game 7 of the ALCS, up by one, man on (pick a base), and serving up a walkoff homer to Miguel Cabrera...not this...

Baseball newbie. Is there a reason for this? Something to do with helping pitchers' location/consistency?
I may be totally wrong, but I always thought it was because most batters are right-handed, and would be in the left-handed catcher's way for throws back to the mound and to second base...

grum,
All of the reasons I laid out are the things people in the area have been saying since the Tigers announced he made the Opening Day roster. Whether or not it makes sense to you or I is irrelevant. That's why they're booing. But it does make sense to me. When you're working your ass off 80+ hours and getting paid shit, or unemployed because there's no jobs, and you see a guy making millions to play a game that's he's not even good at? Yeah, you might wanna boo that guy...

It's not too late to get your picks in for the Stanley Cup pickem in the Locker Room, if you haven't already.
And billsaysthis, your picks for the western conference are 2 teams playing each other. Please fix this when you can... =D

Good try, rcade...but I'm of the mind that a person on the moon could say "looks like JV is pitching a no-hitter" and jinx it. I was informed by a friend, though, who texted me in the middle of the 8th and said only that I should turn the game on. I knew why, but he was careful not to come right out and say it...
