SpoFi 2012 Fantasy Premier League Final Table: Props to Holden for winning by a strong margin and to all 18 who went the distance. Table inside.

Jose Mourinho rewarded for patient approach at Real Madrid: The Special One (man I miss that puppet parody show!) won a seventh league title across four different major leagues in his last eight seasons of managing. As little as I care for his style and tactics, he finds a way to get the job done in recent years about as well as anyone this side of Ferguson or Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola to end reign as Barcelona coach in summer: Guardiola is the most successful coach in Barca history, with three league titles, two Champions Leagues and a Copa del Rey among his haul--plus the chance to win a fourth in a few weeks--and will be succeeded by current assistant Tito Vilanova. "The reason is simple: four years is enough," said Guardiola.

N.J. state troopers face probe for 'Death Race 2012' down Parkway to AC: Brandon Jacobs, recently of the Super Bowl champion NJNY Giants, was one of the alleged racers. "In the complaints, obtained by The Star-Ledger, witnesses said that in the early afternoon of March 30, they saw two State Police patrol cars with their emergency lights flashing driving in front of and behind the southbound caravan, which included dozens of Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and other vehicles, all with their license plates covered with tape."

Pepe defends his stomp on Messi: Sort of. It's @dirtytackle's "version of Pepe's defense of his actions." Even the Madrid papers are going hard on Real's center back and, after all, it isn't his first time doing something so stupid. Hopefully he gets a longer vacation this time.

I'm just surprised they're announcing this ahead of adoption of the new playoff system. Not like they need/can make use of any news buzz in early May.
An interesting same day counterpoint to the Rose Bowl, if the Pac-12/Big 10 do something similar.

Maybe the schools not named U of TX want another big draw school to balance against UTx?

For all his skills I don't understand how a player with Barton's temperament and track record can captain a Premier League side, much less two in recent years. Frankly I'd be surprised if he stays with QPR, or signs for another EPL team.

Speaking of "Survival Sunday" I hope my fellow Reds who are also Comcast subscribers haven't gotten their hopes up on seeing the game with Swansea--Comcast do not carry Fuel TV and so will not have our game! Boo!!!!

Messi hits 50 in La Liga as Pep says adios to fans and 72 overall with a game remaining. Team may have been down a small notch this year but Lio burns bright as ever (though I'm sure he'd trade the personal records for La Liga and/or CL trophies).

Odds on he stays. I think after winning La Liga, Guardiola stepping down and City looking to take the PL Mournho will see next season as a real chance to win Spain and Champions leagues.

The level of their ambition at kickoff? Jay Spearing and Jordan Henderson start in midfield.
Who would you've played, considering Lucas and Charlie Adams are not healthy? Jonjo Shelvey?
Carroll perhaps would've been more productive by now if Kenny had started him game in and game out until he got past whatever mental block was there but as it was, he hadn't earned a start. Kuyt is still my favorite player but 90 minutes against Chelsea seems a big ask, Rodriguez has been less consistent than Carroll and if anything I'd have played Maxi ahead of Stuart Downing.
Of course I'm gutted that Cech made the save on Andy's second try. De Matteo's park the bus strategy didn't bring out a bit more creativity from Gerrard or Downing and Suarez simply didn't get the ball in good positions.
But I am not one of those supporters calling for Kenny's head. A good summer of training and judicious buying and selling and next year can be better.

Um, finest? Certainly the only major league team domiciled in the borough but after a 22-44 season hard to believe the arrogance of that claim!

Goodell also said that these four were the ones he could, to a reasonable level of certainty, say were involved in funding and directing the bounties. But I was expecting a few more to get hit.

Damn! I was hoping after a couple of years off he'd go back to SC to work with the linebackers.

Yerfatma, no because between them those three don't have enough speed to get up and down as Mr. Toure Yaya demonstrated.
Holden, I went for Welbeck over Valencia because he's been combining so well with Rooney lately--I didn't think 4-5-1 was the right formation given the likelihood that City would score at least once. Also, Nani has come back into form lately and he had Valencia's role wide on the right.
With Nani, Scholes, Carrick, Park and Giggs as the midfield, there was no width on the left at all and Welbeck tends to drift to that side naturally.

Isn't Rhode Island the state where one brother was majority leader of the State Assembly or President of the State Senate while the other brother was head of a major criminal org? IIRC the Showtime series Brotherhood was about these two, and definitely set in RI.
